Charcoal, wool, adhesive
Patria outlines Kurdistan, a nation with no internationally recognized borders, whose territories stretch across current-day Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkmenistan, and the imaginations of those who fight for its independence. It is at once, an imagined place, a historical precedent, and a lived reality. Materialized here with charcoal, Patria delineates a shadow, a spectre, a darkness that haunts—but also, that which ignites.
